What awaits you day by day at the baking experience course in Greece
We'll bake, that's for sure, but we'll also enjoy the city and everything it has to offer. And if the weather isn't good, we'll switch up the program so we can bake well.

Arrival & Kalimera
Day 1
We will welcome you in the capital of Greece, right at the airport.
You will be accommodated in a beautiful villa with a sea view and a private mini pool, which will become your home for a few days. In addition to a few surprises that will await you upon arrival, you can also look forward to your first evening together and tasting Greek delicacies in a great tavern.

Athens, as you don't know it
Day 2
We will spend the whole day in the city center, where every corner smells of history and juicy gyros.
We will climb to the Acropolis , walk through the Plaka and Monastiraki districts, catch a glimpse of the ceremonial changing of the guards at Syntagma, smell the spices in the market and taste olives, cheese and gyros. And if you want, you can wait with us until the city turns golden at sunset over Athens. This will be followed by dinner together.

Slowly and smoothly
Day 3
The morning is yours – you can stretch out by the pool, have a Greek coffee under a fig tree, or just breathe deeply.
In the afternoon we will start with the main thing: feeding the yeast, preparing the dough and all that watching how the mixture of flour and water slowly becomes bread. We will finish the evening with a dinner in the spirit of Greek hospitality.

A crunch you won't forget
Day 4
In the morning, you'll be shaping and baking your first loaf of bread . You'll smell the aroma, hear the familiar crackling of the crust – and maybe even feel a little pride.
In the afternoon you can relax by the sea or take your own little trip. In the evening we will taste what each person has created, sit down, share. Just like at home. Only in Greece.

Bread as a photo, beach as a reward
Day 5
In the morning, you'll take a short photography and food styling course from a professional with 10 years of experience in the field. You'll learn a few tricks that are not only suitable for Instagram, but also how to photograph your creation so that it smells good even through the screen.
Afternoon? Beach, peace, water, a book... or just the sea breeze. The evening is free - whoever wants to, can go to a tavern with us or just be as they please.

Last call & homecoming
Day 6
In the morning, like every day, we will repeat the delicious breakfast from Mari and the views from the villa. Then we will exchange kvass , tips, recipes and a final hug.
And then the journey home awaits you - with a head full of enthusiasm, a heart full of joy and the excitement of flying with you on a plane for the first time.
What you will definitely see and experience at the baking experience course in Athens
Athens is not just an open-air museum. It's streets filled with the scent of coffee and rosemary, markets full of color, views that will sink into your skin, and places where history alternates with taste.
During our sourdough baking course, I will also take you on a little trip to see what Athens really is – vibrant, fragrant, sometimes noisy, but always warm . And who knows – maybe you will find something for the soul besides bread.

Taverns in Plaka

Odeon of Herodes Atticus

Monastiraki full of flavors

Changing of the Guard at Syntagma Square

Greek markets and olives you'll want to bring home
What others say about courses with Mari
The bread baking course with Mari in magical Morocco was a unique experience of taste, aroma and colors for me. Her passion for baking bread and the enthusiasm with which she can talk about it for hours completely got me....And I'm so happy that thanks to her I really learned to bake fantastic homemade bread that the whole family likes 😉. A bread baking course led by Marika is a great experience, a great magic that begins with the most ordinary mixing of flour with water, yeast and salt, which, despite the first timid digging of the fingers into the soft, supple dough, and the pouring of the already firm, elastic material into the basket, turns into a golden-baked loaf of bread. The final tap on its underside and the slightly hollow sound will cause you a huge, almost indescribable joy from the bread you baked yourself.
During the course there is enough time for all our questions, Mari explains everything in a nice, friendly and logical way. Each participant receives a notebook from Mari with instructions and a recipe, in which you can write down your own notes and findings as you wish. The whole course is carried out in a very nice and pleasant atmosphere.

I recently had the wonderful opportunity to participate in a wonderful stay in Morocco connected with the basics of leavening and baking sourdough bread with Mari. I must say that it was an unforgettable experience. Mari patiently took us step by step through the process of leavening and baking the bread. Her professional guidance allowed us to learn all the necessary skills. It was not only a great opportunity to learn something new, but also to spend time with an amazingly kind and beautiful soul like Mari. I definitely recommend it to anyone who wants to experience an authentic and enriching experience of fermentation step by step.❤️ Zuzana

Do I need to have any knowledge about baking bread?
You don't have to. Mari will teach you everything from the basics to practical advice for advanced users. She will walk you through everything practically and theoretically, but if you would like to start in advance, you can check out my Home Baking School or download my free e-book about yeast.

We recommend flying. Transport is not included in the price , but we can arrange flights or help you find a good connection. We then use public transport on site and it is included in the course - you can wander around Athens at your leisure as you need.

We recommend traveling light with only hand luggage. The advantage is that you don't have to wait for your suitcase and the price of the flight is usually lower.
But if you prefer larger luggage, no problem - we can help with that too.
What to pack with you?
We will provide everything for the baking course - from ingredients to baking trays, you don't have to bring anything.
As for clothing , we recommend checking the current weather before your trip and choosing what will be suitable. However, I definitely recommend bringing warmer clothes for the evening.
Dining
Breakfast is included in the price - an absolutely amazing combination of home-baked and local Greek specialties, prepared by Mari. We go to dinner together, everyone pays for themselves.
The exception will be a joint Greek evening , which we will prepare as a separate small workshop of Greek delicacies, which is included in the course price.
