It baked slowly but surely
Mari fell in love with baking and cooking as a child , looking under the covers of Sunday lunch. Her grandfather usually prepared it with great respect for the ingredients. He dreamed of having his own bakery all his life, but he never got around to it.
Marika's path to baking was long and quite detoured – mainly through the automotive world, in which she worked for many years. It wasn't until she was forty that she realized what gave her true joy and where she felt best : in the kitchen with the smell of pastries, like when she was little and used to bake and cook with her grandfather. So she decided that it was never too late to start making her dreams come true, she studied baking and after several years of gaining experience, she started passing on her knowledge in yeast baking courses .
You may have met Mari at courses at Ola Kala or Laboratorium alongside other culinary pros such as Martin Kortus. You may also have heard Mari talk about baking on Czech Radio , where she has been invited as a guest several times.
Now Mari is on the path her grandfather started, and her dream of owning her own bakery is closer than ever. But the main thing is that for her, baking is not just about bread. It's a way to slow down, calm the mind, and spread joy – to herself and others.

Her baking is design and her flour is ideas wherever she looks . For many years she worked on visuals for beautiful brands like Volvo or Four Seasons, but she especially loved designing for those who change the world for the better - non-profits like People in Need.
Even though she bakes a little differently, it's always with a smile on her face. She's responsible for sharing Mari's joy of baking with other passionate bakers in a place that's beautiful, functional, and visible . She takes care of the copy, website, and visual direction of the brand, allowing Mari to do what she does best - bake, teach, and inspire others .
And then there are Alfík and Fionka
Two French bulldogs who don't get into trouble, but otherwise they're into everything.
Alfík and Fionka are our moral support. Always ready to step in with their paws when something goes wrong, and to put a smile on our faces even when the yeast turns sour.
While we're working on the dough, they're working on the good mood. Whether they're lying under the table, picking up crumbs, or accompanying us to classes, they're always baking with us . In their own way.
